You are seeing this page because you have a subscription to Symantec Endpoint antivirus from Schrock Innovations. As Thor has discussed several times on the radio show, earlier this year, Symantec sold their commercial antivirus division, Symantec Endpoint, to Broadcom, Inc. (See https://bit.ly/3lFP7So for the details on the sale).
When Symantec sold their name, they did not include any of the supporting technology, research teams, or license management tools. As part of the transaction, Symantec agreed to support existing Endpoint customers exactly as before until November 6th.
Broadcom promised to provide the same security and account management tools as Symantec, and we waited patiently for that promise to materialize. Then COVID hit. We are now in mid-October and we still have no ability to ensure that the customers who entrust us with their digital security remain protected after November 6th.
That is why we not taken action up to this point and why there is an urgent need to do so now. We are aware that our customers rely on us to provide the simplest possible solutions to some of the biggest technology issues, so we asked our Schrock Interactive staff to develop a migration utility that would be distributed through Secure Updater to automatically migrate as many subscribers as possible. You were one of those subscribers.
We are replacing Symantec Endpoint with a more capable security product called SOPHOS Intercept X. SOPHOS needs to be installed on your computer and Symantec Endpoint will be automatically removed shortly. You do not need to do anything.
Schrock Innovations staff from our local Service Centers are all aware of what is happening and stand ready to answer any questions you might have. We had significant internal debates about automatically migrating users vs. asking each of you to take a manual action such as clicking a link in an email to run the migration utility.
There are so many security threats arriving daily through email that we were concerned that asking our customers to trust an email with something so sensitive – even an email from us – would set a bad precedent. We will undoubtedly need to do this for some users, but in your case that drastic measure was not necessary and the automated solution provided a simpler, more effective migration path.

It is true that nothing in life is free, and SOPHOS is more expensive for Schrock to provide than Symantec Endpoint was. However, we are not passing this cost increase on to you. You paid us for a subscription to keep your computer safe and we take that commitment seriously.
You will also receive the same virus-free guarantee we offered with Symantec Endpoint where if your computer or device becomes infected, we will remove the virus for free.
SOPHOS Intercept X is available on all platforms including PC, Mac, Android, iOS, and Linux.
We will be contacting all subscribers not running Secure Updater on their other devices like phones and Macs in the coming weeks to migrate their systems.
For mobile and tablet protection, a visit to our Service Center will be necessary, unfortunately. We are exploring the idea of a migration utility for Mac computers and will have information on that possibility in the coming days.
