Schrock Innovations has added a Class 100 flow bench to our Data Recovery Center to help dramatically reduce the cost of the most advanced data recovery procedures. Only about 10% of data recovery situations involving hard drives require an engineer to actually open the hard drive and replace a damaged or defective component. However, thatContinue reading »

Before we saw the ratings the staff at Clear Channel warned us that typically it takes a couple of ratings periods for a new show to catch on.
With that as a precursor, you can understand why I was thrilled to learn that Schrock Innovations has the #1 rated program in our time slot!Continue reading »
More than 100 people turned out for the grand opening and nearly all of them brought computers in for a discounted Preventative Maintenance Checkup.
The Omaha staff did a great job making everyone feel welcome, processing in the computers and making sure everyone got a helping from the Lovely Kimberly’s amazing cookie buffet.
In fact, 11 days later – after the glow of the grand opening had completely passed, our bench is STILL full with an average of 11 computers coming through the service center every day.
What is New in the Omaha Service Center?
In 2008 Schrock built a state-of-the-art Service Center in Lincoln, NE. The new Omaha Service Center applies the lessons learned from that build out to create the most efficient, customer friendly design possible.
For example, Schrock’s Omaha Service Center features full-height walls to help reduce echo, a shortened walking distance between the front desk to the door, and a much larger tech bay.
The new configuration allows Schrock technicians to work on 40 computers simultaneously, as opposed to Lincoln’s 26.
Where is the Omaha Service Center?
Schrock Innovations Omaha Service Center is located at 16909 Burke Street, STE 129 in Omaha, NE 68118. You can reach the service center by phone at 934-9423.Continue reading »

Carol and Mick said some kind words about us as they introduced us to their listeners and kindly mentioned that we give a free hour of labor to all new customers so they can experience what real service feels like.Continue reading »
Omaha, NE is a very different beast from Lincoln, NE. Everything is more expensive, less available, and more regulated.
Despite the challenges, Schrock Innovations is planning a massive expansion into Omaha in 2010. Replicating what we have done in Lincoln for $850,000 we are planning to spend nearly $1.9 million to establish a presence in Omaha.
Didn’t Schrock Already Have an Omaha Location?
Schrock Innovations entered Omaha in 2004 with a small 1,500 sq foot expansion office on 84th and Maple Street. We had a radio show on the lightly listened to KOMJ Magic 590 AM, and we managed to generate a profitable first year of operation with a light staff and a lot of small-ticket repair work.
In 2006, Magic 590 was flipped to an all-sports format and re-branded as Big Sports 590. We lost our radio show, and with it the only means of marketing that we had cultivated in Omaha.
We tried to move to KKAR 1290, but after 6 months of radio we only had 2 new customers to show for it. KFAB did not have any available air slots, so we cut our losses and killed the Omaha radio show.
From a financial perspective we should have rolled up the Omaha physical location right then and there. From a moral perspective the right thing to do was to keep the store open to service the hundreds of warranties we had sold on new Modular PCs.
We tried to hedge our losses by locating our web development staff in Omaha and moving the location to a lower rent area on 93rd and Maple.
Our lease on that location expired in October of 2009, and our landlord had the opportunity to lease to a longer term tenant. I was not willing to sign a long-term lease in that space, so we rolled up the location in November 2009 and went to 100% mobile service in Omaha.
What is Going to Be Different This Time?Continue reading »
Today we received a note from Jon Ryan about some data recovery work we did for him a few weeks back.
As we read the letter, we thought he might have a problem with the work we did. As we continued reading we were relieved to see Jon’s sense of humor at work 🙂
Hey, last month my wife dropped off our home tower-drive. It had died and she was devastated by the loss.
I did whatever I thought I could and ultimately decided that this was best sent to someone who had “real skills” and asked her to drop it off at your Lincoln outlet. Phyllis was slightly leery of the decision-and mortified that the end result was a $500 + fee attached to a vague technical reference to “some data was recovered” (translation-this has been a challenging year and the holidays were crazy –a lion’s share of the money we were going to spend on our kids went to the recovery effort-so one might imagine her concerns as being escalated beyond the norm.)
Couple that with a husband trying desperately to meet our financial needs with a willingness to do about anything/trade anytime for cash (translation=I am NEVER home) and I just NOW (weeks later) got around to researching what data may or may not be included in the trade.
It’s not fair to think we should /could expect anything. But so much was riding on this –both from a pragmatic and the personal sense.
And I just wanted you to know that, after a little bit of looking and a little bit of prayer and a little bit of re-installation and a little bit of give and take
We are NOT satisfied with your firms assistance…
…because we are overjoyed!
I have already used a dozen of the recovered files for personal and professional reasons. My oldest daughter was able to bring closure to a Gold Award in Girl Scouts (which would have been too overwhelming to start anew—it is a year and a half project to date) And Phyllis is NOW backing up several cd’s (literally several gig) of PRICELESS pictures and documents of the kids and our family that we would of /could have lost forever.
Wow, I cannot put into words how delighted I am to have entrusted our needs to Schrock Innovations and to the NOMINAL costs attached to the success/recovery we can now expand on / enjoy. I don’t know if you get a lot of customer satisfactions ratings that are A++(ir 101% satisfied) but please add our names to your list of referrals.
May you continue to bring light to the darkest corners of those lives who KNOW better than to let things go unsupervised and backed up)

In the Money section of today’s Omaha World Herald Schrock Innovations was featured as a “business makeover”. After our recent improvements to our Lincoln Service Center, our Omaha location is paling in comparison and I know we need to do something about it.
We have a set of plans in place for it, but when Stephanie Monge offered me the opportunity to sit down with not just one, but a team of consultants about our plans I could not pass it up. Here is the article as it appeared in the paper today:Continue reading »
