Thank you for your gift to the Notre Dame Sisters’ annual Celebration of Spirit Dinner. Every spring, we invite our dedicated friends, alumnae, and benefactors to join us in celebrating their service to the community. Each year, the Sisters focus on one of their many areas of active ministry. Out theme for this year’s dinner is Hospitality & the Joy of Homecoming.
Throughout their long history, the Notre Dame Sisters have practiced the Christian principle of hospitality. When American Foundress Mother Qualberta and five other pioneer Sisters stepped on American soil, their first mission was to serve orphans and immigrants. Since then, the Norte Dame Sisters continued with ministry in the field of education, in third-world nations building faith communities and homes; they collaborated to establish the first domestic violence shelter in Omaha and created the very successful program, Safe Homes, to provide start-up funds for those victims of domestic violence to live safely and independently. In 1990s they even transformed a part of their own Motherhouse into a temporary haven for family members supporting their spouses or children in addictions treatment centers. Today they provide safe, affordable housing for seniors at their campus of Seven Oaks at Notre Dame.
Your gift helps us continue to serve the Omaha Community in a number of capacities, and for that, we are truly grateful!
